Neighborhoods in Seattle – Madison Park
The neighborhoods of Madison Park, Washington Park, Denny-Blaine and Broadmoor are the benchmark for Seattle’s upscale communities. In 2010, these four neighborhoods represented 27% of all homes sold in Seattle for $1.5 million or more.
Although close to the city center, Madison Park was primarily a popular summer getaway in the early 1900s. A cable car traversed Madison Street from downtown connecting Seattleites with the beaches and parks located along Lake Washington as well as a ferry dock that took passengers to the eastside of the lake.
Today, Madison Park retains its historic charm showcased in its urban core. Many of the city’s best restaurants, shops and bars are located here.
